Literature Text

Once I was a little girl
Frightened and alone
Always the ugly duckling
In my normal-seeming home.
Given choices, given chances,
Given powers, given friends
Given hope and faith and justice
And the ways to make amends.
But things have changed a lot since then
Just as I am destined to
So I leave my former life behind me
And begin anew.

How life has changed in the past few years
How dark this place became
As a new force rose to control the world
Now, we all know their name.
I saw my family grow dim and fade
I was little! What could I do?
But if they saw me now
They'd know that I have grown up, too.
My mother's dead, my father's mad
Their memories smeared in grey
I must not remember them anymore
As I tear away.

I ran away, so far from home
She took me by the hand
This flower slowly opens up
At last I understand.
She filled my head with thoughts, with truth
More shocking by the day
I knew, in time, I should not heal
Instead, I'll take away.
We're more than they are, more by far
We far outstrip their worth
In time we'll grow, we'll rise, we'll strive
We'll take what's ours: The Earth.

I can't let go of that pleasant scent
The soothing smell of flowers
But the rest of me had changed for good
When she showed me my new powers
What once could heal could now destroy
In such a sudden swerve
And with one touch, they'll turn to dust
It's more than they deserve!
I once wanted to be just like them
To be normal... to be the same
But now I am a Goddess.
Soon, they'll all resent my name.

Eventually, the time will come
In a time of good or bad
When my mission will be put on hold
And I'll try to find my dad.
He never taught me how to fight
Too frightened of the day
When his little girl at last grew up,
and want to break away.
He's no use to me, not one of us
He's the enemy, you see.
And before his body turns to ash
I'll ask, "Remember me?"

When humankind is gone and dead
A newborn race will grow
One which, one day, will stand alone
But for now, we'll take it slow.
This world of ours must be kept safe
Kept out of human hands
For all they do is choke the sky
And violate the lands
When I am big and strong and tall
My petals all unfurled
I'll stand as Queen Behania
The Flower of the World.
Morangos rot and gatinhos age and die, but this flower will always stay in bloom.

This poetry piece is about Behania, her gradual transformation at the hands of Blood, and her outlook on the world once her true power and potential has been reached. Just remember: Some flowers have thorns!

Here's some psychological background music to represent her gradual, irreversible transformation [link] courtesy of my favourite game series!
